I first had tomato rice during my graduation days, thanks to my aunt who introduced me to this wonderful dish. It quickly became a staple in my diet, bringing back fond memories every time I make it.

Serving Suggestions

You can serve this tomato rice with nadan chicken curry, egg curry, raita, and pickle for a complete meal.

Cooking the Rice: I recommend using basmati rice for this recipe. You can cook the rice before making the tomato rice. For added flavor, cook the rice with a small piece of cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom that have been slightly crushed, along with the required amount of salt and one teaspoon of ghee.

Adding Protein: Feel free to customize the dish by adding scrambled/boiled eggs, cooked prawns, or cooked chicken pieces.
